I have a clause with a list of texts datafield. I followed the instructions in the KB article " How to: create a list with both predefined options and free input". It works fine for bullets, but I can’t seem to get it to work with numbering. The list appears as a 3rd level subparagraph, so I’d like the lists items to be numbered 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 etc. Is that possible?

We have not yet encountered this question before, but it’s a good suggestion.
We’ve added a new special function @numbered-paragraphs to cover this use case; it will be available on your server somewhere tonight or tomorrow early in the morning. Have a look at the screenshots to understand how it functions (the #content^paragraphs is a list of text).
