I can make clause alternatives by linking them but is there also an option to make them optional? I would like to have a button that gives me a menu like the alternatives menu but where I can select optional clauses to add on top of an existing instead of replacing it.
Yes, there is.
What you are referring to is the so-called “action button” that can be attached to a clause. The mechanism works a little bit differently than adding alternatives but the way to get there is quite similar.
Check out this article for more information on setting up an action button. What you will want to do when you set up an action button is to:
- select the action " present preselected clauses ",
- manually add each optional clause you want to be able to add as a subclause to the article you are attaching the action button to, and then
- save your clause.
