We use a spreadbase for all entities in our company with all the relevant company information (for example Company A, Company B, Company C). In some of our templates, it’s predefined which company concludes the contract: e.g. Company A.
Is it possible to connect these templates with the spreadbase and always have a certain company (with the most current information in our spreadbase) in the document (e.g. Company A), without selection possiblity in the QA - so as default answer (and “hide this question when answered”).
There is no way of selecting a default value to be used from a spreadbase in a Q&A. From a technical perspective, that is logical: the idea is that a spreadbase is a dynamic database that is updated from time to time and from which therefore entries may be modified and/or deleted. Spreadbases (and their accompanying integrations) are therefore abstracted as much as possible from their actual contents.
However, there is a way of circumventing this where you create an ad hoc integration (connected to the company information spreadbase), which filters the spreadbase so that it only presents one entry as a choice. This is done in the “Input fields” part of the integration, where you choose a field (e.g. the name field), set it to fixed and then enter the value that you want to filter on (e.g. a specific company name). Only the entries containing that value in the name field will be shown to the end user when using that integration.
There are two possible downsides to this:
the integration will of course no longer work if the relevant company is removed from the spreadbase; and
the user will still have to manually ‘select’ the only entry in the dropdown list.
I have taken the liberty of setting up an example integration like this in your account - feel free to try it out.
